Xur's Weekend Specials (December 8-12) 2023

In a universe where the unexpected is the norm, the mysterious Xur, a beloved figure for players worldwide, has returned. This intergalactic arms trader, fondly known as the Agent of the Nine, has once more landed on a distinct planet – ready to bestow Exotic and Legendary-class wares to eager gamers.

This week, Xur has chosen the EDZ, precisely the Winding Cove area, for his interstellar shop. His selection includes the streamlined Jade Rabbit for a weapon, while hunters can acquire the Ophidia Spathe chest armor. Titans get a nod with the formidable An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet, and Warlocks have the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet for grabs.

Finding Xur This Week

Finding Xur’s location is relatively straightforward once you spawn in at the Winding Cove transmat zone. Simply hop on your sparrow and head straight north. Opt for the collapsed overpass on the left and watch out for a cave near the road’s curve. Follow the tunnel to its end and emerge onto an elevated ridge, where a Fallen dropship has crash-landed. Xur will be awaiting your arrival in this location.

Xur’s Exotic and Legendary Items

Gamers who have Legendary Shards, Glimmer, Ascendant Shards, and Exotic Ciphers stocked up are in luck. Xur’s remarkable offers this week include an Exotic Engram for 97 Legendary Shards and the formidable Jade Rabbit for 29 Legendary Shards, among many others. The newly revised Ophidia Spathe is available for 23 Legendary Shards, the same price for the high-performing An Insurmountable Skullfort and the Skull of Dire Ahamkara.

Dedicated gamers aiming for high-tier performance should consider the Hawkmoon for 200 Legendary Shards, 125,000 Glimmer, 1 Ascendant Shard, and 1 Exotic Cipher. The free Xenology quest offers immense value, while Legendary weapons and armor can be acquired for merely 50 Legendary Shards and 1,000 Glimmer.

Analyzing Xur’s Exotic Armor

This weekend, Xur offers three distinctive pieces of armor, each providing a powerful edge to Hunters, Titans, and Warlocks who possess them.

The significantly revised Ophidia Spathe chest armor provides massive advantages to knife-wielding Hunters. With improved knife charges and a final blow, Hunters gain stackable bonuses for subsequent blades, significantly increasing battlefield performance.

Similarly, Titans can boost their fighting prowess with the electrifying An Insurmountable Skullfort helmet, providing rapid health regeneration and restorative melee energy. This helmet’s stats are complementary to an aggressive playstyle, boasting high resilience and strength.

Meanwhile, the Skull of Dire Ahamkara helmet offers Warlocks improved resistance and the ability to recoup Super energy with each Nova Bomb elimination. Although the stats on this piece are not brilliant, it compensates with a relatively high intellect, speeding up Super cooldowns.

Assessing Xur’s Exotic Weapons

The classic Jade Rabbit and the Hawkmoon are Xur’s spotlight weapons this weekend. The Jade Rabbit continues to be a player favorite, particularly in PvP scenarios, with its precision shots gaining bonus damage on subsequent bodyshots. Additionally, the bonus bodyshot also restores ammo to the mag, prolonging the weapon’s functionality.

On the other hand, the Hawkmoon’s Quickdraw trait is an advantageous feature in combat with Unstoppable Champions, permitting swift weapon draw, extra damage capability, and built-up Paracausal Charges for the crucial final blast.

In conclusion, Xur’s current selection caters to all types of players, regardless of their class. The real question now is, which of these fantastic Exotic and Legendary items will you choose?
