Speaking to the professor Robbie at Lookout landing, he says to go an investigate the research lab in Hateno village in order to get some cool upgrades to the Purah pad such as a sensor upgrade. I have searched the building and surrounding area. Found caves an stuff nearby in the hope that i could uplift inside the cave to get the item he was looking for but I am having no luck at all. I cant figure out how to get inside the lab. What are you supposed to do here?

I tried to do the same for this and eventually gave up. Its quite misleading that he mentions this to you in the way that he does but it is not possible to do this yet. You will need to progress with the main story until you have completed a major milestone in the depths and you end up repairing the hot air baloon in lookout landing. When you do, you can pickup a quest from robbie to return to Hateno village and visit him in this tech lab. I know its super confusing but this is how it is. Once you have the side quest “Hateno village research lab” the sign on the door will be removed and you can go inside and speak with robbie about the upgrades to the pad.
