How do you exit the cave at the well of urd?

I have made it to the well of urd a d completed the task here. The quest is now telling me to leave the cave but I can’t find a way out. The guy who came with me is just standing there next to the wolf pup and is doing nothing. How do I get out of here? Is this a glitch?

You exit through the water in the middle of the room. Jump into it and dive down. You will see there is a tunnel beneath the water that you can swim through the exit the cave
