I had him as my companion for a while, but I got rid of him. He was always back at sanctuary when ever I went back. I built a dog house and he seemed angry with me. I went back to check on him today and he was gone. I can’t find him anywhere in the settlement either. Did I break his heart and make him run away for good or is there a glitch that makes Dogmeat vanish in Fallout 4?
I am playing on the PlayStation 4 version of the game if that makes any difference.

Sometimes he can vanish due to a glitch with multiple dog houses. He normally spawns in a dog house, but if you have more than 1 or move/delete the existing ones, the game can get screwed up and not know how to spawn him into the settlement. It can be fixed though.
He can be found at sanctuary hills. Go here and make sure you delete every dog house in the settlement. Make sure to do a good search so you find them all. Once they are Soo deleted, build a new one in a location you want. Go to sleep for a few hours and when you wake up he should be inside this dog house.
