Welcome to the Destiny 2 trophy guide. This is quite an easy trophy list, but a time consuming platinum to obtain. There are only 13 trophies, 11 of which are gold. Most of the trophies in the game will not be unlocked until you have spent several hours playing and at that it could be days before you unlock anything. However, once you reach a high level and have good gear, you should be able to quickly get the non class specific trophies.
If you get stuck of have questions check out the Destiny 2 FAQ section where you can ask a question or see other questions that people have asked. Additional guides for the game can also be found in the Destiny 2 Game Guides section of the site. If you have a guide of your own, feel free to submit it.

Trophy Guide & Road Map [toggle]
There is very little structure to this trophy guide. There is no quickest order to complete it and there are no real shortcuts. The ultimate goal for this game is to ready yourself for the leviathan raid. This will be the most difficult challenge in the game and will require you to max out your character as much as possible. In the process of building up your character with better gear, you will be able to complete and should be encouraged to complete the requirements for all of the other trophies in the game. Your end goal should always be to max out your power level to 300. To do this, completing a lot of the high level activities will give you what you need, and there are typically trophies assigned to completing these activities for the first time.
Step 1 - Play as each class and unlock sub classes
The main issue with a game like this is finding a class that you like the best. Not all classes suit people the same way. There are 3 trophies for unlocking all 3 sub classes for each primary class. The process of obtaining this will give you good exposure to each class and help you figure out which one is right for you. Since you will need to invest heavily in 1 single character to be able to complete the raids, I would suggest you try out the 3 classes first and in the process, you should obtain the following trophies.
- Zavala's Lieutenant
- Cayde's Pathfinder
- Ikora's Protégé
Step 2 - Focus on a single class you like and power up for the raid.
You should now be at a point where you have played as all 3 classes and have figured out which one suits you the best. Pick your favourite and work your ass off to power this guy up to the max power level of 300. You will need to complete the main story first and then start focussing on all of the side missions and quests. The trophies for this game to a really good job at exposing you to all of the different activities in the game and should help you find the best way to earn loot. You will get a trophy for completing some type of activity/quest for the first time and after that you can decide where to put more time into doing those quests in future. As you are levelling up and doing activities, complete the activities that are tied to the following trophies.
- Show Me What You Got
- In A Flash
- The People's Hero
- Heart of Darkness
- The Life Exotic
- Challenge Accepted
In the process of doing this, you should also obtain
- Lest Ye Be Judged
- Long and Winding Road
Step 3 - The Leviathan Raid
This is going to be a challenge for even the strongest of players. You will need to spend a lot of time fine tuning your character to have the best armor and weapons and also having the best control over your characters abilities. Raids require a lot of team work and this can be one of the bigger challenges. Finding people who speak your language and are capable of working as a team. Nothing gets more frustrating than being on a team with some 12 year old who thinks he is the best in the world and takes the whole team down. The trophy description for the leviathan raid will provide you with more info on this when it is available. The final step from here will be to obtain the following trophies.
- The Prestige
- Belly Of The Beast
Unlocks once you get all of the other trophies in Destiny 2, YAY!
It should not take too long to reach this level and I really wouldn't waste time rushing toward this. Pretty much all other trophies in the game will take far longer to unlock than this one, so you should hit this along the way. Should take about 8-10 hours to reach level 20, it might be faster if you are with some friends who are good at the game.
If you want to speedrun to get to level 20, you can follow this guide, but honestly, there is no reason to rush this trophy, it will spoil the experience and will not unlock the platinum any faster.
The Titan class has 3 subclasses.
- Sentinel (void)
- Atriker (arc)
- Sunbreaker (solar)
You will automatically obtain the Sentinel sub class after you get past the intro missions and join the main game. The remaining 2 must be obtained as normal. Find the artifacts from loot chests, kill a bunch of enemies until the quest for that artifact triggers and then complete this quest. Once you unlock the final subclass the trophy will unlock. You will find the first artifact when you reach level 7 and the second when you reach 14. You shouldn't have to look too hard to find them, you will likely find them without trying.
The Hunter class has 3 subclasses.
- Arcstrider (Arc)
- Gunslinger (Solar)
- Nightstalker (Void)
You will automatically obtain the Arcstrider sub class after you get past the intro missions and join the main game.
The Warlock class has 3 subclasses.
- Dawnblade (Solar)
- Voidwalker (Void)
- Stormcaller (Arc)
You will automatically obtain the Dawnblade sub class after you get past the intro missions and join the main game.
This is a very simple trophy for a gold. In the main barn in the farm, you will find an NPC called Lord Shaxx. He will give you a quest to complete some crucible matches. Crucible matches are the PVP matches in Destiny 2. Whether you like them or not, this is really simply and you do not need to win. Speak with him and obtain the quest, once this is done you can play some games and hand the quest back in to get the trophy. Here is what you need to do.
- Play 2 Quickplay Crucible Matches
- Play 2 Competitive Crucible Matches
- Kill enemies in the Crucible (any mode).
Once you have completed the above, you will be able to head back and get your gold trophy.
Flashpoints are a weekly event that takes place on a random planet. You will not be able to take part in these until you have completed the mission "Payback". If you pull up your Destinations map and press L2 you can see the milestones menu. The currently active flashpoint can be found here.
Once you have one, head to the planet that it mentions and start completing public events to fill up the meter. Heroic events will make this faster, but just doing the events will get you there eventually. Once this is done, you will be told to head back to the social space and turn it in to get your rewards and for your trophy.
While in free roam mode on any of the 4 planets in the game, public events will show up every few minutes. If you hold the touch pad and look at the map, you will see them marked down and you will see the amount of time that is remaining until they start. They will be identified by a blue icon on the map. These events are handy for loot and XP, so there is not too much trouble in doing them in the first place. Depending on how you perform during the event, it has a chance to change to a heroic event. When this happens the event becomes much more difficult. For example rather than kill 1 large enemy, a second might show up. Having a fireteam with you will greatly help of course. Each event has distinct requirements to turn it heroic. There is a high chance you will randomly trigger a heroic event at some point.
Loot chests are rewarded for completing these events and since other people in the area can join in with you, it makes these quite easy to complete when others join in. As you play through the game, you should complete these as they come up. It is good for the loot and you might get lucky and obtain a heroic one and in the process, obtain this trophy.
For a full guide on how to activate the heroic events in each of the planets check out this guide http://comicbook.com/gaming/2017/09/06/destiny-2-here-s-how-to-activate-heroic-public-events/#2
Nightfall strikes are locked at the start of the game and you must complete the main campaign before you can do them. On top of having to beat the story, you will also need to have reached level 20 and increased your power level to 230 or higher. Once you have met these requirements, the nightfall strikes will be available.
Nightfall strikes are a more difficult version of the default strikes and require 3 players to complete. Although the power level requirement is 230, you should wait until you are a little higher than this and have 3 good weapons equipped as these missions are tough.
Exotic weapons can be obtained 2 ways, as quest rewards and as random loot. You can identify an exotic item because it will be colored yellow. Exotic gear is the most rare tier of gear in Destiny 2 and is even more rare than Legendary gear. You will not find an abundance of exotic items, but there are a couple of ways to obtain these. The good news is that it is a lot easier to obtain an exotic item in Destiny 2 than it was in the first game. This will not be a quick trophy to unlock for most people, but as you work toward prepping for a raid, you will be doing enough quests and activities that will net you the 15 weapons you need eventually.
- Completing main quests - This is the only reliable way to obtain exotic weapons. There are quests that will give you an exotic tier item for completing them. You will need to complete the more difficult quests, they wont be handing these out too easily, but as you make it through the game, you will end up getting a few of these. A lot of quests after completing the main story can also reward you with exotic weapons.
- Enemy Loot Drops - This can be a really fortunate win if it happens to you. Sometimes enemies can drop exotic loot when you kill them. If you are lucky enough to get one, happy days!
- Crucible Matches - It is possible to get an exotic item as a reward for a PvP Crucible match. This is likely the slowest way to obtain one, but if you like this game mode, you can be happy in knowing that you are in with a chance of getting one.
Since the loot drops are random, you might beat the entire game and never find a single exotic weapon. On the other hand, you might complete the game and find 10. The only consistent way to obtain exotic weapons is to complete missions. There are several missions, particularly the ones later on in the game that.
I am unsure whether this trophy requires you to get 15 exotics with 1 single character or if you can collect a few with each different class. I would assume, you can get them across different characters, but I cannot confirm. If anyone can, please leave a comment.
Challenges will become available later on in the game. They unlock as you progress through the main story so you will know when they become available. Most of these are fairly simple to complete and should be fairly simple to complete. If you press the touch pad (rather than hold it) the currently active challenges and you can work to complete them as you make it through other quests. Most of the time they are sort of background tasks, like kill enemies with a particular weapon type etc.
The Leviathan raid is the first high level raid to be added to Destiny 2. This will take a considerable amount of effort to complete and you must spend a lot of time working on your character before you can take this on. The raid can take several hours to complete and you need to have 5 other players with you while taking it on. Gamespot have a detailed guide on how to complete this raid which i would suggest checking out before attempting this raid. https://www.gamespot.com/articles/destiny-2-leviathan-raid-guide-walkthrough-and-rec/1100-6453311/
Prestige difficulty will see a considerable increase in the difficulty from normal. You are recommended to be at power level 300 before attempting this so you will have to do a hell of a lot of grinding before getting this far. Once you reach power level 270, you should be able to go ahead with the match making process and get into a game.
Originally it was suspected that this trophy was referring to Xur, but it is not. In order to get this trophy, you must have completed the story and obtained the milestone called “Trials of The Nine”. This requires you to play some matches in the crucible under the Trials of Nine game mode. Once you get the milestone, you will first need to get to a power level of 260. Once this is done you can do the trials of nine in the crucible. Once you complete a match you will be able to go back to the crucible game mode and enter a social space where you will be able to speak to the emissary.
