It seems weird that a Zelda game doesn’t allow you to smash pots with your sword, but it doesn’t work anyway. How do you destroy or move the pots/clay jars? When I attempt to lift them the game just tells me that I don’t have the strength to lift them yet. How do I get the ability to lift them? They seem to be blocking the way in the Bottle Grotto temple and it is a bit of a pain in the ass. I think I might need to get this ability and come back later.

You will need to progress through the second temple. You will obtain an item called a power bracelet and it will allow you to pick up rocks and jars.
