Blasting Agent: Ultimate Edition is a retro 8-bit style 2D side scroller. This game is often said to be one of the super easy platinums out there and while this is somewhat true in that it has a very easy trophy list, but the game itself can be challenging at times. Be prepared for some frustration as you go for this one.

To get the platinum you will need to beat the game twice. Once on normal (which is listed in game as easy mode) and then again on hard. The hard difficulty is not unlocked at the start which is why you need to beat the game twice. To get the platinum you will need to complete the game on the hardest difficulty while killing all enemies and collecting all of the gold in each level. Weirdly enough, easy is harder than hard. On your easy playthrough, you will have a gun and that is it. You will be vulnerable to most attacks and through the first few levels, particularly boss fights, you are going to die a LOT. Once hard difficulty is unlocked, you will unlock a second character called Sting. This character is a kung fu master. You can only fight people with hand to hand, but you can attack bullets so that they do not hurt you. You will pretty much be invincible for most of the hard playthrough so long as you have quick enough reflexes.
Each time you walk through a door the game will save. When you die, you go back to the last door that you walked through. All enemies you killed should remain dead. This works incredibly well on hard. Enter a room, kill 1 person, go back and walk through the door to save and then go back into the room and repeat. It will get boring as hell, but if you are finding a level hard, taking out 1 enemy at a time and saving will make life a hell of a lot easier. Especially considering you need to kill every single enemy in the game to get this platinum.
Playthrough 1 – Normal
Start the game on easy and make sure you get 90% of the gold and kill 90% of the enemies in each level. You will see the current count at the top of the screen. If you miss anything and complete the level, you will have to go back and play it again. You shouldn’t hit any issues during this run. Once completed you will have unlocked the following trophies. Keep a look out for weapon power ups. This will make the game a lot easier later on if you have all of the powerups for your gun.

There are times when the difficulty will feel very cheap, you will die incredibly easy and often get trapped due to some crappy platforming and end up getting killed before you can react. The best tip is to take it as slow as you possibly can. Each time you get a kill and can safely make it back to a door, take that opportunity. It will feel like it is making things a lot slower but it isn’t. If you die 10 times at the same part in a level, it is much nicer not having to kill the same enemies over and over before getting to the point that you are stuck at.
You can use any character you like, but the general consensus here is that the character called “Sting” is the best for this run. It will allow you to absorb enemy bullets without taking damage.
There is some bad news with this run. The trophies are glitched. It is very possible that you will complete a level, e.g. Level 1 and even with 100% completion, the “Yeti” trophy will not unlock. IF this happens, replaying the level will unlock the trophy for you. This can be annoying as hell, especially for chapter 4. Some people have suggested that playing the game while you are not connected to PSN will prevent this glitch from happening. This doesn’t seem to be 100% reliable though. Since it is very easy for you disconnect your PS4 from the internet while you play, it is suggested you turn it off before you get stuck into your hard playthrough. I got the platinum on the Vita and PS4. I was able to get all of the trophies while disconnected from the internet on the Vita. One trophy didn’t unlock on the PS4, even though I was disconnected. Replaying the level made it unlock.
All of the outfit trophies have a video guide that will show you how to get through the level on hard with 100% completion. If at any stage you are having trouble, I would suggest you check these trophy guides out as they will help. Once you complete our hard playthrough, you should have all of the trophies below, which includes the platinum….unless of course it glitches. Best of luck!
