I have found a large chest inside the deserted chalet on an island. The chest is locked. Where is the key to unlock it?

You will have to read through the letters and notes and they will give you some clues as to what happened here.
To save you the trouble. Head north from the chalet. You will find an area with a few wolves. Kill them all and you will find a skeleton. Loot it and you will get the key to unlock the chest in the chalet.
