I appear to have hit a bug where my game save has become corrupted. Is there a way to restore the content and save all of my progress.

Sometimes if this happens it is just a false message. Exit the game fully by shutting it down? If you are playing on Xbox or playstation, make sure the game is fully shut down and not just in suspend mode.
When you relaunch the game, click continue and it should allow you back into the game where you left off. At this point, make a manual save to make sure you are safe.
