How do I solve the door puzzle with the golden claw?

I am trying the figure out the order of the icons in the doorway for the golden claw with the circle discs with a bug, bear and owl image in them. I have looked around the area and I can’t seem to find any clues that point toward the order of the icons in order to unlock the door. How do I solve this puzzle?

I can remember getting stuck here too. I’m not sure if they even give a clue as nothing was obvious to me. The solution to the door is printed on the underside of the claw. So if you inspect the claw in your inventory, look at the palm of it and you will see the combination of icons that you need to enter in order to unlock the door. 

Definitely one of the more tricky puzzles in the game last. Maybe Bethesda thought people would inspect items more than they do.
