I tried all of the days listed for the new moon both in us and Europe date formats. I then found the final clue that told me it is indeed European and in August. This must mean. They it’s August 16th 23 and because it’s EU formatting the password should be 160823 but it doesn’t work. What am I missing here.

The note in the main chest of drawers will say that the event is the day after the new moon, not the day of the new moon so add +1 to the day and you will get it. 170823
