My Vita crashed and now I cant seem to get it to boot back into the main menu. I have plugged it into the charger in case there was a battery issue, but it still doesn’t work. The charging light is on and the screen might be on, its hard to tell since it is one of the older models with an OLED screen. Is there a way to do a hard reset or something to see if the system is just frozen?

Take the charger out for starters. If the system has completely frozen and locked up, you need a way to turn it off and letting the battery die is the last resort to perform this. There is a way to force the vita to reboot though. Press and hold the following buttons on the Vita to force it to restart Power + Right Trigger + PS Button. This should help you fix the issue if it has indeed gotten locked up. If this doesn’t work and you still think the system is running, wait a bit and let the battery die and then try to restart it normally once you have inserted the charger.
