What To Do With The Dog Whistle

Resident Evil 1 Remastered

So you’ve got the Dog Whistle in Resident Evil Remastered. Now what, you ask? Well, sit tight because we’re about to unravel this mystery together. The Dog Whistle is a key item in this horrifying adventure, and it’s utilized in a particularly tricky part of the game. Bet you’re eager to know more, right? Let’s dive in!

Getting the Dog Whistle

First things first, let’s make sure you’ve got that Dog Whistle. To get the Dog Whistle, you’ll need to reach the second floor via the main hallway and enter the Study Room. Over on the table, you’ll find the Keeper’s Diary, complete with information about using the Dog Whistle and its location.

Finding the Right Spot

Once you’ve got that Dog Whistle, it’s time to head over to the West Terrace. From the Main Hall, race up to the second floor, then cross into the Dining Room, and finally, find the door shrouded by blue curtains. Go through the door, and you’ll find yourself in the gorgeous, albeit creepy, West Terrace.

Blowing the Dog Whistle

Once in the West Terrace, equip the Dog Whistle from your inventory and get ready to make some noise. Don’t worry, we’re not calling just any old dog, but a rather unique breed. Once you’ve blown the whistle, you’ll be greeted by a zombie dog, bursting with enthusiasm—at least, that’s one way to put it!

Battling the Zombie Dog

Alright, time to drop that casual demeanor—this is a battle. Blast that energetic zombie dog with your handgun or defensive weapon and keep moving to avoid its attacks. Use the pillars and space to your advantage. Once you’ve defeated it, you’re halfway done. Another zombie dog will appear immediately after, so prepare yourself for Round 2.

Survived the zombie dogs onslaught? Good job! Now, give yourself a pat on the back and go claim your reward. The first zombie dog leaves behind a shiny collar. Grab it!

Inspecting the Collar

Now comes the sleuthing. Take a closer look at the collar in your inventory. It’s not as simple as it looks! There’s a switch on the collar. When you operate it, it transforms into a rather ornate-looking item, the Armor Key. But be careful—calling it by its gleaming appearance, this isn’t really the Armor key. It’s actually an imitation.

Swapping the Keys

Now with the Imitation Key in possession, you’re going to want to make a clever switch. You’re aiming for the room with the knight statues, aka the Death Room. Here, you’ll find the real Armor Key on a pedestal. Take it and quickly replace it with the Imitation Key you just obtained. If done correctly, you’ll safely exit the room with the real Armor Key, allowing you to unlock a majority of the doors in the mansion.

And voila! You’ve now successfully navigated the Dog Whistle part of Resident Evil 1 Remastered. The path is perilous and riddled with zombie dogs, but with this guide, you’re more than equipped to face the horrors that lurk in the shadows. So, gamer, ready to venture back into the darkness and outsmart those undead hounds?
