I have obtained the shrine sensor and it beeps every now and then, but not all the time. I have tried to trigger it to find the nearest shrine, but it doesn’t work. How do i trigger the shrine sensor to show me where the nearest shrine is?

I want to be able to clear out some of the junk in my backpack to make space for some more junk :P is it possible to do this from the main menu or can it only be done in game?
