Warrior

Warrior

The warriors of the Terminids faction in Helldivers 2 represent the epitome of aggressive territorial expansion. Crafted through eons of Darwinian processes, these creatures have evolved into efficient killing machines, feared across the galaxy for their ruthlessness. In laboratory observations, warriors have demonstrated their lethal efficiency by dismantling baby cows in less than a second, a testament to their ferocity and a grim warning of their capabilities against humans.

Warriors are primarily encountered during bug missions on various planets, posing significant threats to Helldivers with their tough armor and aggressive tactics. Understanding their behavior, weaknesses, and variations is crucial for any Helldiver aiming to survive encounters with these formidable foes.

Tactics

Warrior enemies, known for their resilience and aggression, can be found in virtually all bug mission environments. Their armored exteriors make them daunting opponents, but knowledgeable Helldivers can exploit their vulnerabilities to achieve victory. The underside and facial area of a warrior represent its most significant weak spots; direct hits here can yield quick ends to otherwise drawn-out battles. For those preferring brute force over precision, shotguns and armor-piercing weapons are effective tools for dismantling a warrior’s defensive shell.

When facing groups of warriors, strategies must adapt to the increased threat level. Eagle strikes and anti-tank weaponry become indispensable for their capacity to eliminate multiple warriors with a single deployment. Among the arsenal recommended for these encounters is the Breaker shotgun, favored for its ability to dispatch a warrior in a singular, well-placed shot.

Variations

Basic Warrior

The most commonly encountered form of warrior enemy is the Basic Warrior, notable for its lighter armor and status as a precursor to the formidable Brood Commander. These younger warriors possess a surprising ability to burrow underground, enabling them to execute unexpected attacks from behind. Their primary vulnerabilities lie in their legs, though severing one often results in a negligible decrease in combat effectiveness; it is typically necessary to break two legs or aim for the head to significantly impair or kill a Basic Warrior. However, be advised that inflicting head trauma triggers a temporary berserker mode, increasing their threat level momentarily before death.

Distance can be a critical factor in engagements with Basic Warriors, especially considering their berserk response to severe head injuries. Maneuvering to maintain space between the Helldiver and the warrior can be as crucial as the accuracy of one’s shots.

Bile Warrior

Encountered on missions of higher difficulty, Bile Warriors share many characteristics with their Basic counterparts but introduce a dangerous new element to combat scenarios. Upon death, they detonate in a devastating bile explosion, posing severe risks to Helldivers in proximity. Identification is facilitated by the presence of a distinctive yellow/orange bile sack on their underbelly, serving as a visual cue for Helldivers to adjust their engagement strategies accordingly.

Sentinel Guard

Sentinel Guards represent a heavily armored echelon of the warrior class, distinguishable by their defensive role near bug hole entrances and map portals. Their unique capacity to ‘hunker’ in response to incoming fire renders them impervious to most primary weapon attacks, compelling Helldivers to adopt precise aiming strategies. Vulnerabilities exist in the armor gaps located on the Sentinel’s head and forelegs, with flanking maneuvers proving especially effective given the Sentinel’s immobility during hunkering. Unlike Basic Warriors, Sentinels do not enter a berserk mode, allowing for a slightly different approach in combat.
