Annihilator Tank

Annihilator Tank

The Automaton Annihilator Tank represents the pinnacle of armored warfare in the universe of Helldivers 2. The Charger equivalent of the Automaton race. Specially designed for intense combat scenarios, these colossi are air-dropped into battlefields, bringing unmatched firepower and defense capabilities to the fray. Despite their slow speed, each variant of the Annihilator Tank is a force to be reckoned with, capable of dictating the flow of battle through sheer resilience and offensive might.

Thanks to their massive scale and power, the presence of an Annihilator Tank on the battlefield requires immediate and strategic attention. Its ability to deliver devastating attacks while withstanding considerable punishment makes it a crucial asset or an insurmountable obstacle, depending on which side of the conflict you find yourself.

Variants

Standard: The Standard Annihilator Tank is outfitted with a Heavy Cannon, providing it with the ability to deliver powerful, long-range bombardments. This variant excels in sieging fortified positions and engaging enemy units from a distance, leveraging its cannon’s extensive range and destructive potential.

HMG: In contrast, the HMG (Heavy Machine Gun) variant of the Annihilator Tank is equipped with quad heavy machine guns. This configuration is optimized for close to mid-range encounters, offering rapid-fire capabilities that can mow down infantry and lightly armored vehicles with ease. Its versatility makes it particularly effective in scenarios that demand both offensive firepower and defensive resilience.

Tactics

Engaging an Annihilator Tank on the battlefield requires careful planning and precise execution. Due to their continuous and omnidirectional firing patterns, utilizing cover is imperative for Helldivers attempting to close in on these goliaths. Finding and exploiting the tank’s weaknesses is key to overcoming their stalwart defenses.

To defeat an Annihilator Tank, targeting the vents to the rear of its turret is a proven strategy. These are among the few vulnerable spots that can be exploited for substantial damage. Furthermore, deploying a variety of stratagems specifically designed to tackle armored enemies proves invaluable. Airstrikes, barrages, and orbital strikes, when used judiciously, can quickly neutralize an Annihilator Tank, shifting the balance of power on the battlefield.

The top of the turret presents another weak point, susceptible to targeted grenade throws. Specifically, two well-placed impact grenades to the turret’s apex can bring about the downfall of an Annihilator Tank. This tactic not only demands precision but also bravery, as getting within throwing distance constitutes a significant risk.
