Pine Studio has released Escape Simulator 2, the follow-up to its best-selling puzzle hit. The sequel arrives on Steam with a launch price of £14.99 / €16.99 / $19.99 and a 10% discount available for a limited time.
Building on the original—which sold over 3 million copies—Escape Simulator 2 expands the formula with tactile, room-by-room puzzling that echoes real-life escape rooms. Players can tackle challenges solo or team up in online co-op with up to eight friends, starting each session in a dedicated lobby space for easy meetups.
At launch, the game features 12 new escape rooms crafted with detailed, themed environments. Pine Studio is introducing three themed packs—Dracula’s Castle, Starship EOS, and The Cursed Treasure—each containing four interconnected rooms that layer story threads and puzzle progression across their sets.
Physics and interaction systems have been revamped, letting players pick up and inspect objects, shift furniture, drive vehicles, and manipulate a wide range of environmental elements. This broader systemic sandbox supports more inventive puzzle designs and cooperative problem-solving.
For creators, Room Editor 2.0 debuts with a new lighting engine, building constructor, and animation editor. These tools aim to streamline the process of building custom escape rooms and sharing them with the community. Pine Studio is encouraging players to pitch ideas for future rooms via community channels, including Discord and email.
Escape Simulator 2 is available now on Steam with more content planned post-launch. The game continues the series’ focus on smart, tactile puzzles and expandable content, with co-op support that scales from pairs to larger friend groups.
