Escape Simulator 2 Launches on Steam with New Themes, Co-op for 8, and Powerful Creation Tools

Escape Simulator 2

Escape Simulator 2, the sequel to Pine Studio’s hit co-op puzzle game, is out now on PC via Steam. Priced at £14.99 / €16.99 / $19.99, the game is launching with a 10% discount for a limited time, making it an easy pickup for returning fans and curious newcomers alike.

Designed for both solo players and groups, Escape Simulator 2 supports cooperative play with up to eight friends. The experience leans into the thrill of real-world escape rooms, blending exploration, logic challenges, and teamwork across connected environments.

At launch, the game introduces three themed packs—Dracula’s Castle, Starship EOS, and The Cursed Treasure. Each theme includes four interconnected rooms with puzzles that carry progress and context from one space to the next, encouraging communication and experimentation as you piece together the bigger picture.

Interactivity has been significantly expanded with enhanced physics-driven systems. Players can pick up and examine objects, move furniture to uncover secrets, drive vehicles where scenarios call for it, and generally tinker with nearly everything in the environment to tease out solutions.

Creators get a major upgrade with Room Editor 2.0. The suite adds a new lighting engine, a building constructor for modular design, and an animation editor—capabilities that build on the more than 4,000 community-made rooms from the first game. Whether you’re fine-tuning puzzle logic or crafting atmospheric scenes, the toolkit aims to streamline creation without sacrificing depth.

Key features at launch include 12 brand-new, puzzle-packed escape rooms, a new lobby room that serves as a social hub for meeting friends and jumping into sessions, and richly detailed environments designed for discovery and replayability.

Pine Studio notes that this is just the beginning: the game launched on October 27, 2025, with more content planned after release. The studio—known for titles like Cats in Time and SEUM: Speedrunners From Hell—has brought indie games to over 30 million players worldwide, and is doubling down on community-driven creation and frequent updates.
