Publisher and developer Brain Seal returns to its tabletop-inspired roots with Dark Quest 4, the next entry in the long-running turn-based strategy adventure series. Drawing clear inspiration from the classic HeroQuest board game, this installment doubles down on tactical dungeon-crawling and party-driven progression.
Dark Quest 4 launches on November 5, 2025, for PC and consoles, including PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One|X|S, and Nintendo Switch. Priced at $19.99, the game will be available on Steam at launch, giving strategy fans a budget-friendly way to dive in across platforms.
The campaign spans 30 handcrafted quests packed with classic, turn-based encounters. Players will battle more than 40 distinct monster types, each encouraging different tactics. Multi-floored dungeons introduce verticality, environmental traps, and arcane hazards, pushing careful positioning and resource management to the forefront.

Party-building takes center stage. Up to 10 unique heroes can join your roster, each defined by their own stats, powers, and playstyle. Between expeditions, the Hero Camp serves as a progression hub where you can train your champions, unlock new cards, and expand their abilities to synergize in combat.
Cooperative options broaden the adventure for groups. Online multiplayer and local couch co-op let friends team up to explore labyrinthine rooms, spring deadly traps on enemies, and haul home the treasure that lies beyond. The turn-based structure translates neatly to shared sessions, allowing for thoughtful, coordinated play.
Beyond the core campaign, a Creator Mode empowers players to design their own quests and build custom dungeons. Community sharing is built in, making it easy to publish your creations and dive into player-made adventures. It’s a natural fit for a game rooted in tabletop tradition, extending replayability well beyond the main story.

At the narrative level, Dark Quest 4 tasks you with leading a band of champions against Gulak, a malevolent force commanding monstrous legions and terrorizing nearby villages. Progression across its handcrafted missions steadily escalates the threat, culminating in battles that test both your party composition and your mastery of the game’s tactical layers.
Dark Quest 4 arrives November 5, 2025, on PC (including Steam), PlayStation 4|5, Xbox One|X|S, and Nintendo Switch for $19.99.
