Nightmare Circus Brings Cute-But-Creepy Action-Adventure to PC and Consoles in Q2 2026

Nightmare Circus game news

Fairplay Studios and Red Dunes Games have unveiled Nightmare Circus, a dreamlike action-adventure that blends eerie whimsy with sinister flair. Announced on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, the game first turned heads at the Tokyo Game Show, drawing strong fan interest for its imaginative combat and surreal world.

Set for a worldwide launch on PC and consoles in Q2 2026, Nightmare Circus casts players as an innocent puppeteer trapped in the twisted Nightmare Realm—what remains after a traveling circus goes horribly wrong. A playable demo is available now as part of Steam Next Fest, giving players an early look at its puzzle-laced exploration and offbeat combat.

Across 8–12 hours of play, you’ll traverse shifting landscapes, battle grotesque yet endearing creations, and rescue lost performers to uncover the realm’s darkest secrets. Exploration leans into atmosphere and tension, with a sense of danger and survival underscoring every step as you attempt to break free from the circus’s spiraling dreamscape.

Combat is built around puppeteer strings—tools that let you ensnare foes, slam them into each other, and chain fluid combos into devastating finishers. A customizable playstyle and an expanding arsenal of tools and abilities invite experimentation, rewarding timing and skill-based play as encounters grow more elaborate.

Fans of off-kilter adventures like Death’s Door or Tunic may feel right at home with the game’s equal parts cute and creepy tone. Between quirky skirmishes and environmental puzzles, the journey emphasizes discovery, momentum, and the uneasy charm of a circus that never sleeps.

Nightmare Circus is developed by Fairplay Studios, a Bangkok-based team focused on crafting globally competitive titles that reflect their passion for distinctive worlds and mechanics. Publishing duties are handled by Red Dunes Games, an Abu Dhabi–based independent developer and publisher recognized for creativity and production quality.
