Setting Up PS5 Remote Play on an iPhone

    PS5 Remote Play on iPhone

PS5 Remote Play on iPhone lets you stream your PlayStation 5 to your phone and play without using the main TV. It is not a replacement for a direct console setup, but it is excellent for continuing a game from another room or playing when the display is occupied.

    Requirements

You need a PS5 connected to the internet, an iPhone with the PS Remote Play app installed, and the same PlayStation Network account on both devices. A DualSense or DualShock 4 controller is strongly recommended, although the app also provides touch controls for basic use.

    Enable Remote Play on PS5

    1. From the PS5 home screen, open Settings.
    2. Select System.
    3. Open Remote Play.
    4. Turn on Enable Remote Play.
    5. For rest mode access, go to System > Power Saving > Features Available in Rest Mode.
    6. Enable Stay Connected to the Internet and Enable Turning On PS5 from Network.

    Connect from the iPhone

    1. Install PS Remote Play from the App Store.
    2. Open the app and sign in with your PlayStation Network account.
    3. Select PS5.
    4. Wait for the app to locate and connect to your console.

If automatic connection does not work, use the manual link option on the PS5 and enter the displayed code into the iPhone app.

    Pair a Controller

To pair a DualSense controller, hold Create and PS until the light bar flashes. For a DualShock 4, hold Share and PS. Then open Settings > Bluetooth on the iPhone and choose the controller from the list of available devices.

A phone mount can make the setup much more comfortable. Without one, Remote Play works best when the iPhone is propped up on a desk or stand.

    Improve Performance

Remote Play depends more on network stability than raw internet speed. For the best result, wire the PS5 to the router with Ethernet and use the iPhone on a strong Wi-Fi connection. If the stream drops quality, move closer to the router, pause downloads, and close background apps that may be using bandwidth.

    Common Fixes

If Remote Play cannot find the PS5, confirm that the console is signed in, Remote Play is enabled, and the PS5 is either on or configured for rest mode wake. If the controller reconnects to the PS5 instead of the iPhone, unpair it from the console or pair it again through the iPhone Bluetooth menu.

    When It Works Best

Remote Play on iPhone is best for slower-paced games, RPGs, strategy titles, and checking in on games from another room. Fast competitive games can still be playable on a strong network, but the smaller screen and added streaming latency make a TV or monitor better for serious sessions.
