PSN has been around for a while now. For many people out there, you will have set up the account back when you were a kid. Parental restrictions exist on PSN to stop younger eyes from gaining access to content designed for people aged over 18. This filter is based on your date of birth. When you create your account, you set it and you won’t be able to change it again via a console, but there is a workaround.
I won’t make any accusations here but if you happen to know someone who was under 18 and decided to use a fake date of birth so that they would be over 18, it is possible to fix it and use your proper DOB now that you are old enough.
Change PSN Date of Birth Via Sony Mobile Site
Sony has been slowing combining their online networks together. PSN has been absorbed into Sonys entertainment network. There is no difference to the end-user, other than allowing you to use the same login for various Sony services. One of these sites is the site for Sony mobile devices.
If you have an account that you used for PSN and you used a fake date of birth (i mean, your friend used a fake date of birth), you can perform a one time change. Once you link your account to this system, you get to pick the date of birth and once you do, it is frozen again. For anyone who set the wrong date of birth for whatever reason, this is a valuable lifeline that will let you change your date of birth on PSN.
Step 1 – Log Into Sony Mobile Website
Click the link below and it will bring you to the sign-in page from the sony mobile website. Enter the email and password that you use for your PSN account on this site. https://account.sonymobile.com/en-US/#/signin
Step 2 – Change your Date of Birth
Once you are logged in, you will be brought to a page that allows you to link your Sony account to this site. As part of the process, you will see the date of birth you selected when you set up the account on the PlayStation console. You will have a one time chance to change it. Input your correct date of birth in the box and click save. Once you do this, you will be brought to the profile page of the mobile site and you will see here that your DOB is now correct.
Does not work: Sorry, we are unable to authenticate you because you have been identified as a minor on the Sony Interactive Entertainment website.
I guess this only applies to those who have a wrong date of birth and are legally old enough to use the servce. You must have used a date of birth that requires your parents to validate
