Owls are one of the most easily identifiable birds in Horizon: Forbidden West due to their large size. Although they are smaller than Pelicans, they are the biggest bird that you are going to find in wooded areas or anywhere outside of the coast.
Owls are quite common in the snowy north of the game map but you may find them a little further south of the area. They tend to be found around trees and wooded areas. Unlike many other animals in the game, owls will only appear at nighttime, as they are nocturnal animals.
Making use of the pulse will allow you to easily spot the owls. They tend to walk in the lower grassy areas and even when they spot you, they are quite slow to get up off the ground. Even in the air, they are fairly slow when they fly so you should be able to shoot them down when you enter concentration mode.
How To Get Owl Feathers
Owl feathers are a little more common than wishbones but the drop rate doesn’t appear to be significantly lower than a wishbone. Make sure you kill every owl you come across in general and the drops should start to fill out your inventory.
