When you reach the Tallneck at the Shining Wastes, you are likely going to be puzzled as to what it is that you need to be able to take on this challenge. Aloy might even mention that you don’t currently have the means to reach the top of this Tallneck. So what exactly is the requirement here?
If you look around the area, you will see that there are no major structures for you to climb on to make your way up to the top of this Tallneck. There are also no mountains nearby that are close enough to allow you to glide down.
What Do You Need For The Shining Wastes Tallneck?
This one contains some spoilers, kinda. Not story spoilers as such but spoilers about some cool thing that you will unlock much later in the game.
I would suggest that you wait a bit longer as the main story will make it very obvious when you possess the means to reach the head of this Tallneck. Like, completely impossible to not figure it out.
With that being said, I may as well post the solution here for anyone who really wants to know. At this point, I am just rambling a bit so as to create a good bit of space between the spoiler warning and the actual image that shows how to get onto the top of the Shining Wastes Tallneck.

So you have been warned here. This spoiler isn’t exactly massive now, but still, I don’t wanna take the blame for it being ruined for anyone. With that being said, if you like to explore the caldrons, you have probably unlocked a lot of machine mounts at this point and have already established that there is a certain machine that would make reaching the top of this tallneck very easy.
