Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo launches on Steam with a branching mystery and 40+ puzzles

Type-NOISE Shonen Shojo

Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo, a puzzle-fuelled narrative adventure from developer Dank Hearts and publisher WhisperGames, is out now on Steam following its September 17, 2025 release.

Set in a dreamlike cityscape, the game follows a group of memory-lost youths who must piece together their pasts and confront inner traumas. Players guide these characters through investigative scenes and tense showdowns that blend story, deduction, and visual flair.

A multi-ending narrative spans six interwoven character arcs, exploring jealousy, pride, resilience, and the complicated bonds that connect the cast. Choices and discoveries ripple across stories, encouraging multiple playthroughs to see every outcome.

Over 40 logic and story-driven puzzles anchor the investigation, from clue-gathering sequences to courtroom-style confrontations that test your reasoning. The puzzle design aims to keep stakes grounded in character motivations while steadily raising the narrative tension.

Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo leans into a psychological aesthetic: fragmented puppetry, distorted perspectives, and shifting light lend the city an off-kilter energy that mirrors the protagonists’ fractured memories.

The release is fully localized with voice and text support in English, Japanese, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. It’s a single-player experience focused on narrative clarity across languages.

Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo is available for $19.99 / £16.75 / €19.50 on Steam. Learn more on the official site at https://www.zatsuonkei.com/ or visit the Steam store page at https://store.steampowered.com/app/2507560/.

The final build reflects community feedback gathered from a late-2024 playable demo, with refinements aimed at tightening pacing and reinforcing puzzle clarity while preserving the game’s surreal tone.
