Novis is a moon in Astroneer that rotates around Vesania. While the planet is classified as being an exotic moon, it does not share many similarities with the exotic planet that it orbits.
Novus is quite rocky and rough but is easier to navigate around when compared to Vesania which has deep trenches that make using a rover difficult. Like the planet it orbits, there are plenty of plants that are hostile and will damage you if you get too close.

What Resources Are Found On Novus
Novus contains all of the universal resources that are found on all planets in Astroneer.
On top of the standard resources that are found on this planet, you will also find Hematite and Lithium. Between this moon and Vesania, you should gain access to a lot of the resources and gasses that you need for the production of the more advanced structures and items in the game.
|Found in the caves beneath the planet’s surface
|Often found in the mountains and higher elevated areas.
Best Way To Generate Power
Generating power on Novus is a little more challenging due to the very short day/night cycle. If you are relying on solar, the batteries may not get time to fully recharge before night comes. This means you will need to use both wind and sun to provide a steady supply of power.
Since lithium is quite common on this planet, you should be able to make a lot of small batteries when you are setting up a base on the planet’s surface. With a few windmills and solar panels, you should be able to build up a sold reserve of power to survive without a problem.
Unlocking The Novus Gateway Engine
There are some minor spoilers ahead. If you do not know what the gateway engine or chambers are and want it to remain a mystery until you come across it yourself, do not read any further.
To unlock the gateway engine on Novus, you will need to place a single piece of silicon into one of the three input nodes inside the engine. Once the stone appears, you can place it into the connector on the roof to activate the engine.
