Epona, the legendary steed from the Legend of Zelda series, gallops back into the limelight in the latest instalment, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Much like in Breath of the Wild, Epona remains an exclusive privilege for players with the coveted Smash Bros Link amiibo or the Twilight Princess amiibo. But fear not, dear adventurers, for we are here to guide you through the thrilling process of summoning and registering your very own Epona!
First things first, you’ll need to scan your amiibo to call upon this majestic horse. Simply whip out that amiibo, give it a gentle tap on the right joy-con, and voilà! Epona, in all her glory, will materialize before your eyes. But beware, brave hero, for you can only summon Epona once! That’s right – one chance, one horse, no do-overs. If you somehow lose her before she is registered, you will not be able to get her back!
Now that you’ve got Epona by your side, it’s of utmost importance to register her at a stable lest you lose her to the wilds of Hyrule. But worry not, for we’ve got the perfect stable in mind: Dueling Peaks Stables. Conveniently located near the iconic twin-peaked mountain, this mountain range is visible from almost every corner of the game. Plus, it’s got that charming Hylian atmosphere that makes you feel right at home.
So, saddle up and embark on a thrilling journey towards Dueling Peaks Stables. Be prepared for some laughs along the way, as the quirky characters you’ll encounter at the stable make for a delightful experience. Once you’ve arrived, simply strut in with Epona, and the friendly stablemaster will take care of the rest. With a few swift strokes of a quill, Epona will be registered as your trusty steed, and you’ll never have to worry about losing her again.
And there you have it! With Epona registered, you’re now free to gallop across the vast kingdom, leaping over obstacles, and exploring every nook and cranny of this enchanting world. So, buckle up, hold on tight, and prepare for an exhilarating adventure with your noble companion, Epona!
Transfer Horses From BOTW
One of the nicer surprises I had when I went to register Epona at the stables was that she was already there along with all of the horses that I had registered while playing Breath of the Wild. So if you got Epona in BOTW and are still using the same Nintendo Switch console with the game save still on the system, you will find that all of your old horses, including Epona will there waiting for you. I now have more Eponas than I can handle!
