Capturing the Poseidon power plant is a fairly big event that gives you a 1-hour timer to complete. If you are a low-level player, capturing it may be quite difficult to do alone, but it is possible. This guide will give you some information that you need to be able to capture the Poseidon power plant and take advantage of the goodies that come with it.
If this is the first time you have taken on any of the power plant events, you will likely get lost here. The game does not highlight exactly what you need to do but rather gives you the general area. The power plants are usually filled with enemies and turrets making it a difficult place to go alone, but perfectly possible.
Starting The Quest/Event
Once you reach Poseidon power and it has not been activated already on this server, you will trigger an event to restore the power. This event will come with three main parts.
- Make basic repairs to the cooling system
- Make basic repairs to the generator system
- Make basic repairs to the reactor system
There will be quest markers that point you toward the general locations of these three and once you get there you need to figure it out yourself. What you need to do is look out for broken pipes that have steam coming out of them. You will also need to look for computer terminals and machine panels that have sparks coming out of them. Walking up to these will give you the option to interact with them in order to repair them. Once you have repaired the damage to enough of these, the quest objective will complete.
Once you complete the objective, you will get a second, optional objective to fully repair the system. This means you need to find all of the remaining things that are broken and repair them. You can do it if you wish but it will not cause you to fail the quest if you do not.
What do you get for fully repairing the power plant?
If you have spare time and want to be a completionist, you could complete the three optional quests to fully repair the power plant. If you do this, you will get a much higher reward of caps and XP for your troubles. Definitely worth doing considering you have likely killed all the enemies and the remaining items to repair will be marked on your display.

How To Power The Fusion Core Processor
For new players, you may be asking what is a fusion core and why is it not already active since there is a damn nuclear power plant right next to it pumping out electricity. Well, we have to ignore the latter part of this as it doesn’t make sense.
Fusion cores are used to power the suits of power armour. Having a machine that can print these out is incredibly valuable. The core requires 100 power, which is quite a lot for those who are stuck with the basic generators.
Powering The Fusion Core Processor
To power this, all you need to do is generate 100 power. This means 10 large generators. Link them all up the to the processor and it will begin creating cores. You should have enough to add 10+ turrets to defend the place while you are away.

Common Questions About The Poseidon Power Plant
This is a fairly complex event to complete and once you complete it, there are lots of questions that people normally have. Here are the answers to the common questions people have before, midway through or after they have activated the plant and restored power.
How long does the plant stay active for?
Once the quest is completed successfully, it will remain active for several hours. If you log out of the server and back in, you will likely find it has been disabled right away. Once it deactivates, you will need to activate it again.
Will The Plant Remain Active On A Private Server Forever?
No, the plant works the same on a private server as it does on a public. It will remain active for a few hours before resetting. If you log out of your private server and back in again, the world will be completely reset. This is helpful for farming resources but in the case of restoring power to the plant, it is not good. If you want to take advantage of the plant being active, make sure to do it early in your sessions so you can take advantage of all of the rewards.
How Fast Does The Fusion Core Processor Generate Cores?
Once you have provided power to the processor, you will get a power core every hour or so. They should stack so you do not have to go back every hour, but since other players can take this from you and enemies can come and destroy it, you should come back as often as possible to collect them. Since you need lots of generators, only one breaking will shut things down.
Can you complete Powering Up Poseidon solo?
Yes, it is quite easy to do this solo. I was able to do it when I was level 15. I would suggest you watch the video guide above as it goes into more detail on what to do. The power plant is big so you should have a look over this in advance to help you out.
