For those who have played games from the Metal Gear franchise, you will be familiar with Kojimas style of puzzles. Everything will follow a pattern and then suddenly you are completely stumped. Everything you have done will no longer work for you. When you are on the road to Edge Knot City you may find you are stumped. How do you get across the Tar Belt?
Pretty much every clue in the area is completely useless. The signs from other players didn’t provide much help. I ended up ramping a bike off the edge of the waystation in a hope that the bike could sink into the water and resurface elsewhere, as the conversation seemed to hint toward earlier on.
How To Get Across The Tar Belt
IF you sleep in a private room, Die Hardman will give you a clue as to what you might need to do here. He has suggested that you have done this before but he cant remember where.
Depending on how good you are at this game, you may have traveled across tar many times…when you get caught by a BT!
When a BT captures you and you get pulled into the tar, a stronger Tar enemy will attack you. Items and buildings will lift out of the tar and you can use these as platforms to run on in order to get away.
Use the BTs in the Nearby Timefall
Follow the beach away from the grassy areas and you will run into some of your great friends, the BTs. This time, you do not want to kill them or sneak through. Instead, you want to actually get caught. Run to the peak of the beach and get the attention of a BT. Get caught in the Tar and wait for the monster to show up.
Once the tar monster is there, you will be able to make your way to Edge Knot city by hopping over the rubble floating in the tar. If you are unsure about any of this, check out the video I made below. This will show you everything you need to do to get across the tar belt.
