Tiny Roar, the team behind Lou’s Lagoon, and publisher Megabit (the publishing arm of Aonic) have revealed a new coming-of-age adventure during the Wholesome Snack showcase, set in a world remade by conflict and reclaimed by nature. The game is coming soon to Steam and is available to wishlist now.
Players step into the role of Sprout, a young adventurer emerging into a vibrant yet dangerous landscape where mutated flora and fauna thrive among untouched relics of 1980s culture. Survival and player agency sit at the heart of the experience, challenging you to adapt, explore, and make choices that carry immediate consequences.
Central to Sprout’s journey is a miraculous infection that grants the power to give or take life essence from the natural world. This ability enables you to shape environments, influence ecosystems, and determine how far you’ll go to endure—while constantly weighing your survival needs against the impact you leave behind.
Across your travels, you’ll gather and craft resources, outsmart hostile creatures, manage hunger, hydration, and rest, and gradually piece together the history of a fallen civilization seemingly frozen in the late 1980s. The world invites experimentation: use life-essence powers to clear paths or restore growth, scout for safe havens, and decide when to conserve or spend precious energy.
Key features highlighted by Tiny Roar and Megabit include:
- A lush post-apocalyptic setting where nature has overrun human spaces, with remnants of 1980s culture scattered throughout.
- Life-essence powers that let you give or take vitality from the environment, directly reshaping the world around you.
- Resourceful survival focused on crafting, gathering, and tactical encounters that reward observation and cunning.
- Systems for hunger, hydration, and rest that demand thoughtful planning and tough moment-to-moment tradeoffs.
- Story discovery through exploration, as you uncover how the world fell and what it means for Sprout’s future.
The project is developed by Tiny Roar with support from Germany’s Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space. Fans can wishlist now on Steam to follow updates and launch details.
