The role-playing game ‘Chained Echoes’ is preparing to expand its critically acclaimed universe with the upcoming DLC, ‘Ashes of Elrant’, scheduled for release on August 7th, 2025. Following its 2022 debut, which garnered several accolades including the German game of the year, the title continues to build on its reputation for rich storytelling and classic JRPG gameplay.
Developed by Matthias Linda, who founded Studio Umami Tiger, ‘Chained Echoes’ became notable for being largely the work of a solo developer. The new DLC delivers a substantial addition to the original, offering a saga set prior to the end of ‘Chained Echoes’. Players will delve into the origins of the Order of Leonar and uncover new facets of Lenne’s past, deepening the lore of the game’s world.
‘Ashes of Elrant’ introduces an array of fresh content, including more than 40 new enemies and bosses, a host of new equipment and items, as well as engaging mini-games. Players can also look forward to over 15 newly composed music tracks, expanding the atmospheric soundtrack that the original game was praised for.
Described as a massive addition that nearly stands as a game of its own, the DLC is priced at 9.99 Euros. It will be available on multiple platforms: PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch.
To access ‘Ashes of Elrant’, players will need to own the base game, ‘Chained Echoes’. Those interested in reviewing or covering the DLC can request codes for both the DLC and the original game, with support for platforms including PC, PlayStation 4/5, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox across the EU, NA, and AU regions.
