I’m putting together a low-health, Unyielding sneak build and want to land a VATS critical every other shot. I’m leaning toward armor effects that help while moving rather than Sentinel. Which perks or stats should I double-check?

For the every-other-shot goal, check your Luck and Critical Savvy first. A common target is 33 Luck with rank 3 Critical Savvy, though weapon effects and other bonuses can change the exact requirement. Unyielding helps raise Luck at low health, so check the stat you actually have with your gear and buffs active. Better Criticals boosts the damage of the criticals you’re already earning, but it does not fill the meter faster.
Also make sure the weapon suits VATS use. Low AP cost helps you stay in VATS, while a critical-damage effect can improve the payoff. Those are separate from your armor’s defensive effects.

I’d treat stealth and crits as two different parts of the build. For stealth damage, look at Covert Operative, Escape Artist, and a suppressed weapon if that fits your choice. For crits, focus on Luck, Critical Savvy, and Better Criticals. Armor that reduces detection can help you stay hidden, but it won’t speed up the critical meter.
The moving-defense effects sound reasonable if you often reposition. Sentinel is geared toward standing still, so it may not match how you play. Neither choice is a substitute for checking whether enemies are actually detecting you.

Don’t spend every perk point chasing damage. A low-health setup still needs room for survival perks, and VATS builds can run short on AP if the weapon cost is high. Test the crit rhythm and AP drain on the weapon you plan to use, then adjust from there. The armor effects won’t fix either of those.
