Is there a faster way to level Infernal Hordes?

I’m basically done with my War Plan board, but Infernal Hordes is still the slow part. Is there a quicker way to level that node without spending forever on it?

The quickest route seems to be stacking activity rewards through party play, but only if the people you join are also actually running Infernal Hordes as their active node. If the node is not active on their side, you won’t get the extra progress, so it turns into a waste of time pretty fast.

A lot of players talk about rerolling the board until Infernal Hordes lands in the top row, then activating it, finishing the board, joining a full group, and repeating after abandoning the quest so the board itself stays in place. The key detail is that the board does not get rerolled when you abandon, so you can reuse the same setup over and over.

GlintHarbor4:

That makes sense. So the real bottleneck is finding a full party with matching nodes, not the board itself.

Yeah, and partial groups seem to cut down the gain enough that it’s not worth settling if you can help it.

If you want the simple version, solo grinding is usually the slow path. The faster method is to only spend time on boards where Infernal Hordes is easy to access, then chain runs with other people who are on the same node. That way you are not forcing every point through your own board progress.

It does sound a bit awkward because you have to keep checking what others are running, but that is basically where the speed comes from. The efficiency comes from shared progress, not from doing your own board in a straight line.

So it’s less about maximizing one board and more about farming the shared completion bonus as often as possible.

One catch people keep missing is that this only works well when the group is coordinated. If you jump into random parties, you can land in runs where nobody else has Infernal Hordes active and then the whole attempt gives nothing useful for that node.

So the practical answer is probably not some secret shortcut, it is more like setting up a repeatable loop. Get Infernal Hordes on the board, activate it, join a full party, complete the run, leave, reset the quest state, and do it again. It is a bit clunky, but it looks faster than plodding through low-value nodes one by one.

FableBrick28:

That clunkiness is exactly why it feels slower than it should. Still, it sounds better than grinding the last couple levels the long way.

LimeOrbit17:

Agreed. Matching with the right group matters way more than people expect here.

There is no magical solo shortcut from what I can tell. If your board is already close to done and Infernal Hordes is the only thing lagging behind, the best time saver is to target the shared reward mechanic and avoid wasting runs on mismatched parties. If you cannot get that setup consistently, then the normal grind is probably the fallback.

So the answer is basically: yes, there is a faster method, but it depends on party composition and a bit of luck, not just on your own progress. That part is annoying, but it is still the fastest route people have found.
