In some boss fights, a dangerous hit can use the same warning as a minor attack, while other serious effects are hard to spot among the visuals. What would make the warnings clearer without making the fight too easy?
How should boss warnings show which attacks are most dangerous?

The warning should match both the danger and the actual hit area. A huge hit could get a more urgent, distinct cue than a minor swipe, and the cue should stay visible for as long as the area can hurt players. That lets people read the fight without removing the need to dodge or respond.

Clutter is a big part of the problem. If a dangerous effect blends into the floor or disappears under other players’ effects, its warning needs stronger contrast or a clearer outline. It should still be easy to tell which area is unsafe when the screen is busy.

I’d keep a consistent visual language rather than make every serious attack flash dramatically. Players can learn familiar cues, and the fight can still be challenging if those cues are distinct from weaker attacks and clearly point to the danger. The warning doesn’t need to explain every mechanic or guarantee a safe response.

Showing the active danger clearly matters too. A warning before the attack helps, but players also need to see where the hit is while it’s happening.
