How do you tell if a tank wants grousers?
I’m trying to choose between grousers and a turbo. Can a tank’s terrain resistance and top speed tell me which is likely to help more?

Terrain resistance is a useful clue, but it is not the whole answer. Higher resistance means the tank loses more mobility on that terrain, so grousers are more appealing if that is where you often need to move. Also consider the tank’s engine power and whether it can already reach its top speed in normal play.
A turbo is the more general pick if you want extra engine power and a higher speed limit. Grousers are more situational: they can be worthwhile when poor terrain is holding the tank back. Compare the benefit you expect from each with what you would give up in that equipment slot.
Don’t choose from the top-speed number alone. If the tank rarely reaches its speed cap, raising that cap may not do much. Terrain resistance helps explain why it feels sluggish off-road, while engine power gives another clue. Grousers make more sense when rough ground is the problem, turbo when you want a broader mobility boost.
If you’re unsure, try each setup on the maps and routes where you actually play that tank. The better choice can depend on whether you spend more time crossing uneven ground or trying to get up to speed on firmer routes.
