This might appear to be some sort of spam post, but I kid you not, a fan made Ocarina of Time expansion is actually happening. Ocarina of Time was the first Zelda game I was old enough to remember playing and for most if was probably the game that got them hooked on the series. Even today Ocarina of Time is considered to be one of the best Zelda games ever made, if not one of the best games of all time. The thought of being able to return to this world is such an awesome deal.
Project Third Quest is a fan made mod that aims to create completely new quest based on the original Ocarina of Time game engine. The game is based both visually and mechanically on the original game, so it is going to be a total throw back while still being fresh.
They have an official blog which is a bit empty at the moment. Hopefully this is because they are working so hard on the game. Mods for the other N64 Zelda games are notoriously difficult to work with so I’m sure this is no easy task. The official blog can be found here https://thirdquest.wordpress.com/. This isn’t quite as good as an Ocarina of Time HD Remake, but it will definitely do, especially with it being fresh new content.
