Minecraft: Pocket Edition was a port of Minecraft made for mobile devices, initially launched exclusively for the Xperia Play mobile devices, but was later released to Android, iOS, Fire OS, and Windows Phone.
After the Better Together Update was released on September 20, 2017, the Pocket Edition name, alongside other similar versions, was dropped and renamed to simply Minecraft.
