I’m excited about the possibility of expanding crafting systems in the upcoming third Kingdom Come game. Blacksmithing is already solid, but I think it would be really cool if they added other crafting activities like tailoring or cooking. I know tailoring could be tricky to implement well, so maybe cooking or baking could be a simpler alternative. Imagine being able to cook your own meals in the pots scattered around, creating unique foods with special effects—like weaker potions for early game or food that lasts longer without losing nutrition. Since I’m still pretty new to Kingdom Come, I’d love to hear what you all think about this idea and any downsides I might not be aware of.

I think cooking could work well as a mini-game, but baking, making armor, and tailoring probably shouldn’t be quick or flashy. Those activities realistically take a lot of time—like kneading dough or hand-stitching a shirt—and it’d be neat if the game reflected that rather than making it instant.
Cooking feels like a perfect fit! I’ve been really into the idea of going full-on simulation after playing KCD2. I’d love to whip up dishes using all the herbs, meats, and spices you find around. Honestly, if Warhorse made a farming and cooking spin-off like Stardew Valley but set in Bohemia, I’d be all over it.
From my real-life experience, cooking as a crafting activity sounds great. Tailoring, though? Not so much. Hand stitching fabric is really slow and fiddly, and I just can’t see that being fun in a game—even machine sewing can be pretty boring without something else to keep you entertained while doing it.
I think adding dyeing clothes would be awesome—sort of like what they did in a DLC for Witcher 3. Also, a fishing mini-game would be a cool activity to have alongside crafting.
A solid sewing mini-game could definitely work! Imagine trying to keep your stitches evenly spaced and consistent to create clothes or bandages. Maybe the better you do, the more perks you get, like improved healing when using bandages. That sort of skill-based microgame would add some cool depth without just being busywork.
By the way, if you’re playing on PC, there’s already a cooking mod on the Steam Workshop that adds some cooking features to the game. It might give you a taste of what it could be like natively!
