There’s been a lot of uncertainty around the content we’ll get in Frontiers. Last year we got the Prismatic update, but many players are burned out since it mostly recycled tools we’re already familiar with. It would be refreshing to see something new like fresh subclasses, abilities, or verbs to spice up gameplay alongside the new location and raid in the upcoming expansion. So, what do you think? Would a new darkness subclass or similar content make you consider checking out a certain game launching this September?

I’m a bit skeptical we’ll get a whole new subclass or elemental type in Frontiers. That said, I’m really hoping Bungie adds more updates to our existing subclasses like the new aspects that came with Heresy. Those really breathed new life into the Arc Titan and Warlock. If they expanded the fourth aspects for Solar Titan, Void Lock, and Solar Hunter or added new supers, grenades (especially darkness grenades), and melee abilities, that’d definitely shake things up and keep me hooked.
For me, the only things that would pull me back into the game are fixing the vault space right from day one and bringing back crafting. Last year’s exotic mission grind for crafting took forever, and it was a major turnoff. Until those quality-of-life stuff gets sorted, I’m not too interested regardless of new subclasses or expansions.
Honestly, I’m planning to play both Borderlands 4 and Destiny regardless. If Frontiers gets a new darkness subclass, that would definitely add some appeal, but either way I’m in for both games. Switching back and forth sounds like a blast!
Right? I’d love if Borderlands 4 had quirky weapon types like Tiny Tina’s melee stuff. Could keep things fresh jumping between both games.
