Is there a possibility that the Mario & Sonic series could make a comeback since the Olympic Games’ attempt at NFTs seems to have flopped? I’m not super eager for a new installment since the previous ones are satisfactory, but I remember hearing the series was put on hold because the Olympic Games wanted to focus on NFT games. Given the general failure of NFTs, could that open the door for new Mario & Sonic titles?

It might take a few years for things to clear up. The last winter Olympics game came out in 2014, and with the next summer Olympics not until 2028, we probably won’t hear anything about Sega getting the license until then.
Honestly, I’d be okay with the Mario & Sonic Olympics series being done if it means we could finally get a proper crossover game! Both Sega and Nintendo have avoided crossovers in the past due to the Olympics series, which I find silly. Sure, the Olympic games are fun, but I’d trade them in a heartbeat for an epic platformer crossover.
Yeah, I heard they considered crossovers before, but it got shut down, which is a bummer.
