With the recent surge in handheld gaming devices following the Steam Deck’s release, including Microsoft’s new Xbox Ally handheld, I’m curious if Sony is considering making a new PlayStation portable. Do you think they might be inspired to enter this market again, or are they satisfied with the PS Portal and not interested in another handheld?

The Xbox Ally is more of an upgraded version of the ROG Ally, not an actual portable Xbox console. Think of it as a limited edition; it’s not a standalone gaming device like people might expect.
From what I’ve heard, they are actually working on a new handheld. Insiders have been hinting at it, which is exciting!
There are reports suggesting they are making one. The real question is what the price will be compared to the Xbox handheld and the upcoming Switch 2.
Considering the success of the PS Portal, it’s likely they will make another handheld. The main concern I see is the pricing of these devices over the next few years.
They might think about it, but Sony isn’t really paying attention to what Xbox is doing for their future plans. They usually have their own strategies in mind.
That sounds promising! I wonder what features it will have.
