Hey everyone! I’m curious if anyone thinks Oblivion Remastered will run well on the Steam Deck compared to other games that require similar hardware. I’ve heard a lot about it being made with Unreal Engine 5, which tends to not perform great on the Deck. What are your thoughts?

Yeah, UE5 games and the Deck don’t always mix well, unfortunately. Your best bet for playing it on the Deck might be through GeForce Now or streaming it from a more powerful PC, if you have access to that.
Since Oblivion Remastered is made with UE5, there’s a good chance it won’t run very well on the Deck. Past experience with other UE5 games shows they struggle a lot. It’s a bummer, but I think we’ll need to wait and see how things shake out once it releases.
It’s really up in the air right now! The game’s optimization will play a huge role in its performance. I’m still holding out hope that it might work better than expected, so we’ll have to keep an eye out for more info.
There are still a lot of unknowns here. We need to see how optimized it is and whether it’s just a rendering layer or a complete overhaul with UE5. Plus, if it’s coming to the Switch 2, that might improve chances for the Deck.
