Will My PS5 Download Games in Rest Mode Without Waking Up?

I want to know if initiating a remote download from my phone will wake my PS5 console or if it can download while it’s in rest mode. My setup is connected to an AV receiver that turns on when the PS5 powers up, and I don’t want to risk turning everything on since I’ll be away for the day. I’m concerned about potentially damaging my TV or other components too.

Yeah, your game should download while the console is in rest mode, as long as you have the correct settings enabled for it to do so.

I tried this just a week ago! When you start a download from the app, your PS5 stays in rest mode and continues downloading the game without fully waking up. When I checked later, my game was fully downloaded with all updates ready to go. It’s pretty convenient!
