I’ve got a villager who’s just running around in circles and won’t take a job or even sleep! When I opened up their space, they darted off for about 300 blocks before I managed to trap them back at the little home I built. Any ideas on how to get them to chill and start working? I’ll update once I figure this out! Update: After reloading the game, my villager became a librarian. Thanks for the help, everyone!

Also, check what color shirt your villager has! It might give you clues about their profession or if they’re still considered a ‘jobless’ villager.
Sometimes, villagers just need a little time. I had a similar issue where my villager wouldn’t do anything. After leaving them alone for a couple of in-game days, they eventually started working again. Maybe try that and see if it helps!
Make sure to place a workstation nearby. That should encourage your villager to pick up a job. For example, if you want a librarian, a lectern is what you need! If you already have one set up, then it might just be a matter of time for them to notice it.
