I’m having a strange issue with eDuke32 on Linux. When I run the game on Windows, it plays the OGG music files perfectly, but on Linux, it completely ignores those files and only plays the MIDI music. I’ve copied the same music folder over, but it doesn’t seem to detect the OGG files at all. I really want to enjoy the CD music from Duke 3D instead of the 8-bit MIDI tracks. Any ideas on how I can fix this?

That’s odd! It should ideally play all the OGG files. Maybe check where the game looks for music files. I noticed that it works perfectly with my setup from the Megaton Edition Steam folder.
It’s strange that it plays ‘Grabbag’ but none of the other OGG files. Have you checked the naming of the music files? Sometimes, if the filenames don’t match what the game expects, it won’t pick them up.
Did you install eDuke32 via a package manager or from source? I use the flatpak build from Flathub, and it picks up my OGG files right away. You might also want to check the audio settings in the game and make sure the option for OGG music is enabled.
