Hey fellow Zelda fans, I’ve got a bit of a rant to share and I’m curious if anyone else feels the same. I grew up on Ocarina of Time, which is always going to be the best for me (maybe I’m biased!). I’m really bothered by how Skyward Sword handled the Hero’s Clothing. In Ocarina, the Kokiri Tunic was special because it represented Link’s unique origins as a Kokiri who actually grew up, making it stand out. But in Skyward Sword, they just went with ‘knight’s clothing’ that everyone wore, and it seems to erase the tunic’s special meaning and uniqueness. It just doesn’t make sense to me! Also, I felt like the Hero’s Clothing didn’t get the respect it deserved in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Sure, it’s cool to have multiple outfits, but the Hero’s Clothing should be more than just one of many—it’s iconic, like the Master Sword! What are your thoughts? Did this bother you too?

I get what you’re saying, but I don’t think the Kokiri Tunic really stands out just because Link is wearing a bigger version of it. At least in Skyward Sword, the knights had their own colored uniforms, which added some variety.
I actually enjoyed how Skyward Sword introduces Link’s tunic and explains its origins. It looked fantastic in Twilight Princess too! Different tastes, though—some prefer the clean look of SS.
Yeah, I hear you! But honestly, Minish Cap pretty much made it clear that Link’s green tunic wasn’t unique way back in 2004. They didn’t really emphasize its origins in Ocarina either. Wind Waker is the only game that kind of ties it back to the Hero of Time.
Totally agree, the TP version looks awesome with that chain mail! But everyone has their favorites, I’ve heard many love SS for its design.
