Hey everyone, this is my first post here, and I’m hoping you can help me out. I’ve got two 2TB extended storage drives: one is an older Seagate that I used for my PS4 games, which can also be used on PCs. The other one is a Seagate Gaming Game Drive designed specifically for PlayStation, compatible with both PS4 and PS5. I’m trying to transfer my PS5 games to this new drive, but it’s not appearing in the USB Extended Storage section like my old drive does. What do I need to do to get it recognized and be able to switch between both drives for my PS4 and PS5 games? Can both drives work at the same time or is it limited to just one?

First off, it’s important to note that USB extended storage for a PS5 will only work for PS4 games, not PS5 titles. If you want to store PS5 games, you need to use an SSD that’s either internal or compatible with the PS5.
Are you connecting both drives at the same time? Sometimes, the console may only recognize one at a time based on how they’re formatted or powered.
I’ve tried it with both connected and just the new drive alone, but the older one is the only one that shows up.

I get that about the PS4 drive, but my new one should work for both systems, right? So why isn’t it showing up?
