I’ve been curious about why West Tek is considered the top spot for grinding XP in the game. I get that there are a lot of super mutants there, but there are other locations with spawns, like ghoul dens such as The Burrows. Is the reason people favor West Tek because the super mutants are higher-level, which means better XP rewards per kill than mobs in other areas?

Honestly, the XP you get from the super mutants is substantial. It’s basically a one-to-one HP to XP ratio, and West Tek has a ton of them. I can pull in around 140K XP in just a 3.5-minute run. Sure, it can be monotonous, but it gets the job done for completing season boards quickly. I even did it on multiple accounts in record time!
One of the main reasons West Tek is popular for XP grinding is the ease of resetting the mutant spawns. You can take the elevator up or down to refresh them, and since they’re higher-level, each super mutant gives more XP compared to those found out in the wild. It’s like a never-ending supply of foes to eliminate.
I didn’t realize you could reset it like that! I always thought it was a waste waiting for spawns. That explains why it seems so popular!
The key to West Tek is its layout. Those super mutants spawn really close to each other, which means you could clear out a bunch with just a couple of grenades before the respawn. Even after some updates, it’s still viable to score big XP with minimal effort—just a few loading screens and no ammo needed!
Sounds like my kind of farming! I might give the grenade strategy a whirl again now.
That’s impressive! I usually grind expeditions, but you’ve motivated me to give West Tek another shot.
