Why is the Xbox app making me reinstall a 112GB update?

I was just about to play my game when I got a prompt from the Xbox app saying I needed an update. After it errored out, I restarted the app, but now it’s telling me I need to reinstall with a massive 112GB update. My C drive shows that I have 119GB installed, so this feels ridiculous. Has anyone else run into this issue? I’m using the Xbox Game Pass version on PC and starting to wish I had gone for the Steam version instead.

That’s a known bug with the Xbox app. It seems the game might have gotten corrupted, and now it’s requiring a full reinstall. I used to face this issue all the time on console, but I didn’t expect it to happen on PC. Unfortunately, it looks like you’ll have to reinstall to play again.

Yeah, just been looking online, and it seems like that’s the case. I’m really not impressed with the app!
