I’ve been playing “Appalachian Outlaws” for quite a while, and I’m really baffled by the current state of the ‘wanted’ system. It feels like a missed opportunity—like there’s so much more they could do with it. For instance, stealing leads to a pitiful 5-cap bounty, and it seems like no one actively seeks out players to hunt. You basically can’t see other players or their camps until someone happens to shoot you. I think a more thoughtful and intentional system could really enhance the experience, even though I’m not advocating for PvP. It just needs more substance!

Honestly, I think the wanted system is just a relic from when Bethesda was hoping players would be more into PvP, but that definitely hasn’t panned out. It’s kind of just sitting there, not being used effectively. I doubt they’ll ever revamp it since it seems the majority of players aren’t interested in PvP at all!
For me, it’s about the immersion. I think it would be way cooler if NPC bounty hunters actually came after you instead of relying on other players. Makes more sense, right?
That sounds way more engaging! Imagine actually having to evade NPCs instead of just waiting for a player to shoot you.
I get that they had plans for PvP in the beginning, but with how things are now, it feels pointless. Honestly, removal of the whole system could be a better option than trying to make it relevant now.
Totally agree, it’s kind of dead weight at this point. Just let everyone enjoy the game without worrying about a flimsy bounty system!
I just don’t think anyone cares about this system anymore. Most players don’t want to deal with the penalties for engaging in theft or PvP when there’s barely any reward for it. It’s pretty lame.
Yeah, it’s like they have this code in place but don’t want to take the resources to fix or update it. They really need to focus on what players are actually engaged with.
